If you put a shape against a mirror, we immediately see something organic in it. This given fascinated Badriah. She saw that as soon as there is bilateral symmetry, a certain recognition takes place. Even the most inorganic surface will seem to produce an organism in front of our eyes. It’s simply what our brains are programmed to do.

The fact that half of the creature we think we see is a mere reflection, does not bother us in the least. In OBEX 4 the mirrored part of the image is made physical. By copying the mirrored image exactly, an effect is produced as if the mirror itself were taken away. The mirror has now become imaginary and is effortlessly projected back into the picture by our brains.
