TRINITAS, CONCEPT, 2017

This design for a spatial installation calls to mind humanity’s many attempts at envisioning the house as a sacred place. As secularization sweeps the floor with anything holy, only art can stand its ground and represent the gooey stuff that is called spiritual identity.

These three reliefs are standing within a confined space – reminiscent of sacred statues. In this day and age they no longer obey their function. As pieces of art, however, they are still no more and no less than a crystallization of ideals; gods that are no longer worshiped, but that simply manifest themselves.
