A3c BRONZE 2020

A3C is part of the A-series; perhaps the most luscious of the collection. The smooth, rich reflective surface reflects its surroundings in such a way that the sculpture is partially defined by what surrounds it. 

At first glance, this sculpture might evoke associations with Brancusi. The meaning of the work is related to the inner struggle one experiences when coming of age – more specifically, the relationship between the ‘I’ and its surroundings. Positioned on a mirror, and reflecting its surroundings on its own surface, the work has an extraverted feel to it. However, it also has a strong internal formal identity: its movement, from height to depth, and back. As such, it has its own autonomous power in relation to its surroundings that may yet be discovered. A striking piece that could function as a guaranteed eye-catcher in any environment.
