White statuario marble an oval shape that is germinating both inward – and outwardly asif moved by centrifugal and centripetal forces.
Turning itself inside out like an Oroboros (the mythical snake that bites his own tail) this sculpture pays tribute to the ever renewing force of life. The sculpture was made in Spring 2008 in Pietrasanta. This was the first piece of Badriah’s in an exhibition: at Kursalon Hübner in Vienna. This sculpture came into existence during a one-year working period in Pietrasanta, Italy, where Badriah was researching the ellipse as a means to capture human emotion in a subdued and sublimate manner.
